How to do a marketing strategy

How to do a marketing strategy might be something that you have been thinking about. Maybe it is something that you have added to the ever growing to-do-list but you never get round to it. Marketing is the life blood of any business or career. It is how you find customers and get that important money flowing your way. But there is a quick and easy way to do marketing. I call it mini marketing and I’ll show you how. How to do a marketing strategy

Mini marketing allows you make small changes that allow you to hit bigger targets. Sometimes we are already doing something, but a slight change would make all the difference, and you don’t need to know how to create a marketing strategy to do it!

How to do marketing

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Simple changes can make all of the difference. Start by looking at what is working for you. If you have a local niche, maybe you are sending out emails and these are working for you. Can you add more value to them, by up-selling new courses or products that you have made. Don’t think of it as sleazy selling, you are offering them something of value that will improve their own lives.

The other place to look is at your website. Is it obvious what someone needs to do the moment that they land on your front page? Have you tested it with some of your previous clients and customers? If you haven’t done that before, is this something that you could do? Sometimes we make assumptions about what people want or how they will react to what we do. You might think that it is obvious what you want people to do the moment that they land on your site, but actually it isn’t clear to your customers. The rule of thumb is to think about one thing that you want people to do the moment that they land on your website. If you don’t have a website something like a landing page is perfect to get you going. You can see an example of one here: CLICK

Warm leads

Warm leads can be the quickest way to get results with very little input from you. Think about great customers and clients that you have worked with, can you offer them something extra or a discount for a new product you have made? I hope that you are building an email list of your previous clients and fans- if you aren’t, seriously, you need one! The reason that I say this is that it is one of your best marketing tools.

People sign up to your mailing list only when they love or are interested in what you already do. This means that they are a warm lead. Now I’m not saying you want to sell, sell, sell to them. This is a big no, no. The rule tends to be that someone needs to hear from you seven times before you sell them something. Think about what you can offer them before you ask for a sale.

Mailchimp is what I use, and it also gives you the option to have free landing pages. I’m not affiliated with them in anyway, but I love the easy of use and great customer support that I receive from them. For every $1 that you spend on paper advertising like leaflets you get about $1.50 back. For every $1 that you spend on online marketing via your email list you get $38! Yep, those figures should make you start an email list today!

Marketing doesn’t have to be complicated. It is all about those small wins that bring you big results. The main to think about is looking at what is or isn’t working and adjust as you go. You don’t have to get things perfect, you just have to get things going.
