Finding your niche really can be a shortcut to success. It can help you to save time and money, and serve the people you actually enjoy working with. Not only that, it can take the slime out of selling and make it something enjoyable!
Finding your niche doesn’t have to be hard. It is easy to overthink it and try to repeat what a competitor is doing. Start by asking yourself these questions.

- Who do you like working with?
- What would your perfect client look like?
- Who are the people that you love to serve?
- What do you like about what your competitor is doing?
- Who in your niche has money to hire you or buy what you offer?
- What do you love about your job?
- When you have had a great customer experience yourself, what was it that made it so great?
Finding what you love and what your audience loves about you is half the battle won. The next stage is to decide what you want to keep on doing, and what you want to change. There might be things that you want to do in the future, but you can’t afford, or logistically do them now. This doesn’t mean that you have to forget about them, it means that you might have to charge more to provide them, or wait until you have a larger audience or customer base.
And if you are working for a company, finding your niche can really help you as well. We spend most of our day at work. Making sure that we work with people we like, or for a company that has the same values as us, will really help to find the right career path. You want to enjoy what you do.
